12 Restaurants You Won't Want To Miss In Tulum

Be Tulum, Mexico

When most people think of Tulum, they’re dreaming of gorgeous beaches, fascinating history and margaritas, but what you probably don’t know, is that Tulum is a foodie heaven! Tulum is one of my ultimate destinations if food is your priority. So if you’re traveling to Tulum, bookmark this page and start making reservations because you won’t want to miss out on any of these incredible restaurants in Tulum.

  1. Be Tulum - a cash free restaurant inside of an incredible hotel (that I’ll post about later) on the beach. Not only is there a raw bar, the ceviche is delicious and you can’t go wrong with any of the seafood dishes.

  2. Loyal Order Tulum - I know what you’re thinking, “Turkish food in Tulum?!” Yes and yes! This restaurant serves up a chic daybed lounge aesthetic with delicious Turkish food and everyone’s favorite, Turkish coffee.

  3. Hartwood - One of the hardest reservations in Tulum! They’re only open Wednesday to Sunday so plan ahead - and in order to get a reservation you’ll need to show up at 3pm and put your name down for later that evening. Seems like a hassle, but it’s completely worth it!

  4. Casa Jaguar - DRINKS with a capital D. This spot is cocktail heaven, especially if you’re into mezcal.

  5. El Tabano - I love a local wine, so this spot made the list because they really focus on providing locally bottled wines and that’s always a special treat when traveling.

  6. Casa Violeta - Whether you stay here (yes, it’s a hotel), or you simply come for the food, you’re in good hands. Ocean view and delicious homemade jams and tortillas, can’t beat it.

  7. Posada Margarita - This is the BEST Italian food in Tulum. Yes, I know there probably isn’t much competition, but listen, this place is absolutely delicious and the foccaccia is to die for. Bring pesos though because they don’t accept credit cards! And if you’re looking for a place to stay, don’t worry, they’re a hotel as well.

  8. Gitano’s - By now everyone has heard of Gitano’s, mainly due to their expansion from Tulum into NYC and Miami! This restaurant serves up outdoor jungle vibes and the best cocktails in town.

  9. Kitchen Table - I haven’t had the pleasure of eating here, but I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews! It’s one of the highest rated restaurants in Tulum and that’s no surprise one of the founders used to work in Michelin restaurants abroad. Hello fine dining!

  10. Safari Comedor Zama - Loved by the locals and known for cocktails, unforgettable tacos and cute airstream, you won’t want to miss this one!

  11. Arca - If you’re looking for a nice restaurant for that special occasion, look no further than Arca. Fine dining with local fare, plus one of the Chefs used to work at Noma (hello Michelin!!)

  12. Verdant - Serving up the perfect farm-to-table aesthetic, this spot is nestled in a 1 acre herb and veggie garden, making it an authentic farm-to-table experience. The duo behind Arca created Verdant, so you already know it’s going to be a memorable meal!
