Hotel Spotlight: The Winston Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa

This month’s hotel spotlight is on The Winston Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa.

This hotel is one of the most luxurious yet affordable places I’ve ever stayed. Most of the time you need to spend tons of money in order to stay at a 5 star boutique hotel of this caliber, but this one will run you around $150 per night.

From the moment you enter the property you feel like you’ve been transported to an oasis. The design of the space is colorful, eclectic and open. Not to mention the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.

Upon entering your room, the first thing you’ll notice is the spacious room with traditional South African decor and color schemes. Then you’ll notice a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool. All rooms face the pool in the center of the property so you can’t go wrong with any room.

The food onsite is also delicious. I enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner onsite and found that each meal provided something local and traditional as well as an international menu for those of us that are not quite as adventurous with our food.

Overall, this property is my absolute favorite in Johannesburg. Don’t miss out on The Winston Hotel when you visit South Africa.
