Where to Eat & Drink in Raleigh, NC

Garland Raleigh NC

One of my favorite cities in the US is Raleigh, NC. I went there for work once and completely fell in love with the city, the people and of course, the food. After 4 days of eating and drinking my way through the city, I’ve come up with a sound list of my favorite places in Raleigh. If you’ve ever visited Raleigh, drop a comment below! And if you haven’t considered adding it to your US travel list, hopefully this mouthwatering list will change your mind!

  • Garland (Pictured above) - Indian and Asian cuisine. I could’ve stayed here all night. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and there’s a bar underneath the restaurant that does karaoke. Boy was I at home.

  • Bida Manda - Laotian food - do I have to say anything else? Perfectly spiced and flavored and a local favorite.

  • Transfer Co. Food Hall - More specifically Locals Oyster Bar. If you love food halls as much as I do, this is a great place to spend the afternoon people watching and enjoying a variety of food.

Poole's Diner Raleigh NC
  • Poole’s Diner (above) - James Beard award winning, Chef Ashley Christensen owns this one so you know it’s perfection. Everything on the menu is amazing, but I warn you, do not order the mac and cheese if you’re a party of one, it’s definitely for a group!

  • Beasley’s Chicken and Honey -Another Ashley Christensen spot. You can’t go wrong with this Raleigh staple. The fried chicken and mac and cheese are mind blowing. This is my top pick for best mac and cheese in Raleigh - no doubt about it!

Bittersweet Gin Raleigh NC
  • Bittersweet Gin (above) - Go for the gin and jam cocktails…trust me. Hands down my favorite gin cocktail spot in Raleigh. I wish every bar put a spoonful of homemade spicy jam into my gin cocktail. Most interesting and memorable cocktail of the year.

  • Death & Taxes - Another Ashley Christensen spot…yes, she runs the food game in Raleigh. Such great decor, super vibey and the food and drinks are too die for. See what I did there?!

  • Foundation - Cocktail heaven. Seriously, it’s happy hour somewhere.

  • Lucette Grace - Go for the macaroons or breakfast.
